St Andrew is Scotland’s patron saint, and this ancient city has been very important throughout Scottish history. It has one of the UK’s oldest Universities, but it is probably best known as the home of golf. Book in to comfortable bed and breakfast or guesthouse accommodation and enjoy a stroll around the historical town centre taking in the Castle, the Cathedral, the Church Square and the unique range of mainly independent shops. Or you can step out of your B&B and take a guided walking tour, look out for re-enactments of historical scenes or travel a little further afield to visit the Botanic Garden, the Eden Estuary Nature Reserve, Craigtoun Country Park, or one of the many attractive fishing villages nearby.
