Surrounded by the spectacular Cumbrian Lake District Fells 5 star Winder Hall is in an ideal location for exploring the area. There are seven exclusive rooms which are relaxing and inviting. In addition in our beautiful grounds we have a Cedar Summer House with Sauna and a Hot Tub to round off your day or just put your feet up on the terrace or in the lounge with complimentary afternoon tea and delicious home baked cakes! We offer fine dining based on locally sourced fresh produce - three course dinner costs £35 including coffee and homemade fudge afterwards. This can be ordered as a supplement to your booking. If you are visiting the area on business we can offer an early breakfast and easy check-out for you - just let us know in advance. Located within 15 minute's drive of five of the most stunning lakes only 30 minutes from the west coast and close to both the market town of Cockermouth and Keswick it is the ideal base to explore the Lake District.

From the South: Take the M6 North to Junction 40 signposted Penrith and Western Lakes. Turn left onto the A66 heading towards Keswick. Remain on the A66 and continue for 1.5 miles after Keswick turn. Turn left onto the B5292 signposted Braithwaite and Lorton via Whinlatter Pass. Drive over Whinlatter descending into Lorton Vale. Ignore the signs to Lorton and continue on the B5289 entering Low Lorton village. Drive past the Wheatsheaf Inn on the left. Winder Hall is 100 yards past the Wheatsheaf on the right-hand side.From the North: Either take the M6 South until junction 40 and follow the directions above or: from Carlisle take the A595 initially signposted Workington and after 5 miles signposted Cockermouth.Continue to follow signs to Cockermouth. On entering Cockermouth cross the River Derwent and then turn left onto Main Street. Continue straight on over the mini roundabout continuing on Main Street then turn right at the crossing into Station street following signs for Lorton and Buttermere. Turn left at the traffic lights onto the B5289 and follow the road 3 miles into Lorton.Ignore the left turn to Lorton Church and continue on the B5289 entering Low Lorton village. Drive past the Wheatsheaf Inn on the left. Winder Hall is 100 yards past the Wheatsheaf on the right-hand side.From the South: Take the M6 North to Junction 40 signposted Penrith and Western Lakes.
