Bradford-on-Avon Attractions |
| |
The most popular attractions are Bath, Longleat, Lacock( home of Harry Potter's school), Wells, Stonehenge, Glastonbury, Avebury, Cheddar Gorge, Westbury White Horse, Bradford on Avon. The hotel is perfectly situated for walking & cycling the Kennet and Avon Canal towpath, either to Bath, or in the other direction, to the amazing flight of 21 locks at Caen Hill outside the picturesque town of Devizes.
Other nearby places of interest include Longleat House, Glastonbury, Wells, Cheddar caves and the famous Wookey Hole, while the Cotswolds can be seen on a day trip, as can Exmoor. Many famous gardens both National Trust and private are in the area. Among them The Courts, Stourhead, Iford Manor, Bowood and Westonbirt. Link these to a tapestry of ancient Manor Houses, stone built and many with stone tiled roofs ( including part of our house ), Farmsteads, Inns and Villages, many dating back 500 or more years and showing the immense wealth created from wool, and it can be seen that the area is well worth visiting for a few days, or longer. |
