A recipient of the ETC five diamonds and silver award, this unusual BnB offers unforgettable accommodation. You couldn't wish for a more dramatic nor more welcoming venue than the exquisitely restored Victorian courtroom with its high vaulted ceiling, huge log fire and five cathedral style windows. (And if anyone misbehaves, they can be sent out to the original jail cells!)

Bed and Breakfast Description

 

The original building was built in 1857 as a Divisional Court House and Police Station. The property features spectacular Victorian Gothic architecture, reminiscent of castle and cathedral, and is constructed from many tons of local Temple stone. The building became a private home about 20 years ago.

 

Bath Attractions

 
Nearby Bath is a unique city and is a beautiful and unforgettable place to visit. Its hot springs, Roman Baths, splendid Abbey and Georgian stone crescents have attracted visitors for centuries. You should try and explore this compact city on foot. Delights to savour include the Georgian architecture, independent shops, a diverse range of restaurants, theatres and pubs, along with unique museums and a wide range of guided tours.

The Jane Austen Centre is a new permanent exhibition which tells the story of her experience of living in the city and its effect on her writing.
 

B&B Location
 
After passing through the village of Marksbury, the A39 forks to the left at a Shell petrol station, and the A368 goes straight on.

Continue on the A39, through Farmborough and High Littleton, until it reaches a T junction with the A37 at Hallatrow.
Turn right, signed Bristol, onto the A37. Follow the A37 up the hill into Temple Cloud.

At the top of the hill, as you approach a set of pedestrian traffic lights, you will see a Texaco petrol station on the left and opposite it the Temple Inn public house on your right. Temple Inn Lane turns right immediately before the pub.

We are the big building surrounded by a stone wall opposite the pub on Temple Inn Lane. Turn into Temple Inn Lane and fork right immediately onto the access road across the cattle grid and turn into our gates.
