Bed and Breakfast Description

The BnB, which is peacefully situated on the outskirts of Uffington village, was formerly an Inn with its own brewhouse and is mentioned in "Tom Brown's Schooldays" Nowadays it provides outstanding accommodation and delicious home cooking within the Cotswolds and Oxford areas.

Set in attractive gardens, the Bed & Breakfast boasts antique furniture, beamed ceilings, log fires a Victorian Half Tester bed (canopied over one end) and a splendid l8th century four-poster bed. with cabbage rose chintz drapes, and, as with all bedrooms, hand-embroidered sheets and pillow slips.

Local Attractions
Nearby Oxford -the city of dreaming spires has a wealth of history and great shopping.

Blenheim Palace - the former home of Sir Winston Churchill- has a house and gardens open to the public.

To the west lie the Cotswolds with many little villages to explore.

The Ridgeway offers great walking and hiking.

The River Thames flows through the county and offers riverside pubs, boating and cruising.
 

B&B Location
From The South (M4): - Exit the M4 at Junction 14, take the A388 north toward Wantage, turning left almost immediately onto the B4000 toward Lambourn.
In Lambourn, take the B4001 toward Wantage to the crossroads at Childrey.
Turn Left onto the B4507 toward Ashbury, turning right for Kingston Lisle.
Go through Kingston Lisle and follow the signs for Uffington.
Turn right by the church in Uffington Village and The BnB is located on Fernham Road, a third of a mile out of the village.
The 'drives' into the BnB are just after the speed limit signs you will pass.

From The North (A420): - Take any turning off of the A420 sign posted for Fernham (about 19miles SW of Oxford and about 9 miles NE of Swindon).
Proceed to Fernham and the turning for Uffington is on the eastern edge of the village.
Follow the road for two miles into Uffington and The BnB is on the right just as you enter the village.
