Bed and Breakfast Description

 

Set in 23 acres of the Derbyshire Peak District, the Hall has been home to the Hull-Bailey family since 1978 and we hope that you will agree this spectacular venue is perfect for a quiet restful break amid stunning scenery.

The Hall occupies a magnificent location, overlooking a natural limestone gorge created by the River Wye. Designed by Thomas Johnson of Lichfield in 1835 the hall has remained in private ownership and had most of its original features are remarkably well preserved. The grounds and gardens presently being restored to the original planting plan are open to the public during the summer.

Visitors come from all over the world to enjoy the peace and tranquillity of Britain’s first National Park. The National Park covers 1,438 km2 with over 2,500 km of public rights of way and has parts of seven counties. The Peak District has something to offer everyone, with magnificent scenery, some of England’s finest climbing, caving, walking and cycling, and great places to visit whilst staying in your favourite style of accommodation.
 

B&B Location
 
North via the M1:
Leave the M1 at J29 for Chesterfield and take the A619 going through Baslow on the A623 to Calver. Go on through the traffic lights to Stoney Middleton and stay on this road for about 3m until a left turn to Litton and Cressbrook. Go into Litton and left for Cressbrook for about 1m until you see the Cresbrook sign; straight after there is a sharp left hand bend and a fork; take the right fork down a steep hill (20%) passing The Victorian Gardens on the right; about 200 yards down on the right there is a fenced gate house and a driveway with a sign 'Private drive no right of way'. Turn down the drive and our property is visible below and to your left.
