Bed and Breakfast Description

If you are planning a romantic break in Berwick-upon-Tweed, or simply want to relax and enjoy great food, then please consider us, Berwick-upon-Tweed's finest.

Private garage and parking available.

A sallyport is a French term derived from the fact that this is where the soldiers used to sally forth to battle (the lane leads to a small gateway through the unique Elizabethan walls out to the harbour's edge). This is a prime location if you wish to be in the centre of town close to pubs, restaurants and the theatre.

For all its luxury and comfort, it is the breakfasts that guests give as the reason they keep returning time after time. Imaginative breakfast cuisine home-cooked and served from 8.30am up to 10.00am daily. Bucks Fizz on Sundays.

Sample Breakfast Menu:

Fresh raspberries, nectarines and passion fruit with vanilla yoghurt.
Oatmeal porridge served with a jug of cream and Drambuie.
Warm smoked salmon, Brie and avocado croissant.
Craster kippers with poached or scrambled egg.
Hand made kedgeree: lightly poached haddock cooked with onions, rice, eggs and fresh herbs.
Full cooked Scottish breakfast with haggis.
Potato scones with undyed smoked haddock and Parma ham.
Vanilla waffles with maple syrup, cream and fresh raspberries.
Warm croissants, Danish pastries and real top quality coffee.
