Tulip Tree Cottage is a period terraced property, originally part of the estate and farm buildings of a Grade II Listed country house. The cottage is set in a pretty garden, and fields & woodland surround the house. Situated in a rural location, but only five miles from the historic abbey town of Sherborne, the house is within quarter of a mile of the A352, allowing for easy travelling to other areas of interest.
The king-sized, double-bedded room has en-suite facilities (shower, basin and WC) and guests enjoy the sole use of a sitting room and conservatory. Drying facilities are available for walkers.
A full English breakfast is served, using local produce whenever possible. Packed lunches can be provided if prior notice given. There are two local pubs serving good food within a few miles, and numerous others close by, especially in Sherborne and Cerne Abbas.
Within close proximity, there are a number of houses and gardens to visit, and the coast is about 20-25 miles away. The cottage is ideally situated for those who wish to walk in the surrounding glorious countryside, and near to the Dorset Gap; MacMillan Way; the Wessex Ridgeway; and the South West Coast Path.
Dorset has many interesting places but a drive to Wareham and the Purbeck area, or a visit to Weymouth, the 2012 Olympic sailing venue, is well-worth it - as is Portland Bill and the lighthouse, especially on a blustery day. Whether you are visiting gardens, museums, or just looking at the countryside, Dorset has it all!
Holnest Park consists of two large houses, and a couple of bungalows. Both the houses are divided into a number of separate dwellings – Holnest House has six apartments, and the original Manor Farm has been divided into seven properties, one of which is Tulip Tree Cottage.
Resident pets within the house. Therefore, regretfully, no other pets accepted.
