Bed and Breakfast Description

 

Off the beaten track, half a mile from the nearest road, escape to this traditional Medieval (1520) Devon Longhouse, with original oak panelling, beams, log fires in winter, uneven flagstone floors & low doorways! The guest accommodation, however, offers every luxury: well-appointed bedrooms are all en-suite except one with a private bathroom, are kited out with Wi-Fi, TVs, tea & coffee trays and all sorts of toiletries.

Set within its own 80 acres of environmentally friendly farmed rolling countryside, woodland & gardens. Explore the farm along it’s Devon Wildlife trail hosting abundant wildlife and panoramic views. Meet the farm animals, hens, sheep dog and flock of sheep lambing in April & May each year. Other facilities include a tennis court, sauna, games room & pond.

Situated on the Tarka Trail and Macmillan Way about 7 miles east of Barnstaple Market Town. Huxtable Farm has all the facilities required to welcome walkers & cyclists, including maps and walks from its doorstep.

An ideal hideaway for exploring Exmoor National Park & North Devon's coast, with its historic harbours, Clovelly, Lynton & Lynmouth.

Start your day with a freshly cooked breakfast using locally sourced ingredients, including home-made jams and bread, in the medieval dining room.

If travelling via M5, come off at Junction 27 (Tiverton, approximately 32miles from Huxtable Farm) and follow A361 west. Take right turn signposted West Buckland & East Buckland (approximately 30 miles from M5 and 2 miles after North Aller roundabout with the 'North Gate Inn'). Drive through West Buckland village in the direction of East Buckland. The entrance to Huxtable Farm will be seen on the right opposite West Buckland School, halfway between West & East Buckland villages.
