Our establishment is fitted with central heating throughout. We have fishing opportunities nearby. Garden and/or patio area for guests There are golf facilitiesor nearby. Hairdryers are available in rooms or on request. Internet access available in rooms or residents lounge.
We're sorry, we do not accept pets. We have on-site parking. There are scenic walks in the surrounding area. Smoking is not permitted in the establishment. All rooms have tea and coffee making facilities.

Bed and Breakfast Description

 

Come to Knockbain House and enjoy staying on our working small agricultural estate.

We have recently fully modernised the house to provide 2 guest rooms which have exclusive use of a front entrance hall, large sitting room and dining room, all apart from the owner's accomodation. We have a large double suite room and also a twin bedded room with private shower room. There is a single room available for an extra family member. All rooms except the single overlook the extensive gardens with views over the Cromarty Firth and Black Isle.

We have won environmental awards at Knockbain and specialise in environmentally sensitive livestock rearing mainly based on grass but with extensive woodlands. We are located on a comprehensive short and long distance path network but we are only 1 mile from the town of Dingwall which has excellent road and rail connections with Inverness and also the North and West Highlands.

We have a library of maps and guides and David has 40 years of experience of touring the Highlands and enjoys helping with planning itineries for guests.

Denise cooks you breakfast from a menu of locally sourced quality ingediants such as her luxury scambled farm eggs and organic smoked salmon. Evening meals by special arrangement.

Walking paths,mountain climbing, golf courses, Strathpeffer Victorian Village(6 miles),Dolphin watching at Fortrose, Loch Ness, Birdwatching, fishing. Or stay on our 1,000 acre estate and enjoy all our home grown attractions.
 

B&B Location
 
Take the A9 from Inverness over the Kessock Bridge. At the first rounabout North of the Kessock Bridge take the A835(T) Ullapool road to the next roundabout and turn right on A862 into Dingwall. Turn left at the main traffic lights (A834)and take first left after the police station. This is Blackwells Street. Proceed along narrow street and then up farm road to Knockbain House. From other directions please phone for advise. Dingwall has a railway and bus station with good links to the rest of the UK.
