Bed and Breakfast Description

 

A Historic Grade I Listed family home offering luxury bed and breakfast accommodation. Conveniently located in the heart of Thomas Hardy's Wessex countryside, two minutes from Dorchester in Dorset. An ideal base from which to explore the many attractions, rolling countryside and beautiful coastline that Dorset has to offer. We also have and on-site massage/beauty therapy room offering Massage, Aromatherpy Massage, Facial treatments and other beuty treatments by trained proffesionals (see website for more details)

All bedrooms come equipped with colour television, tea and coffee making facilities and a hairdryer. All beds have duvets, but sheets and blankets are available on request. We also provide non-allergic pillows if needed. Electric iron and ironing board available. We have wireless internet access in all rooms.

The Tudor Drawing Room is available to relax in at any time during your stay and The Old Great Kitchen is now the dining room where breakfast is served around a grand mahogany dining table.

BY CAR:
From London take the M3 motorway (M25 junc12) towards Southampton join the M27 west towards Bournemouth, take the A31 signposted to Dorchester and Ringwood, at Bere Regis the A31 joins the A35 take the A35 to Dorchester, just before reaching Dorchester at the Bypass roundabout turn left and follow the sign to Kingston Maurward College.

After approx 200 metres take the second right turning into Kingston Maurward College. Proceed down the private estate road passing Kingston Maurward house on your right and continue straight ahead following the sign for The Old Manor. After approx 100 metres the road bends to the right and The Old Manor will be seen on the left, continue to the right of the house and our entrance is just before the cattle grid on the left. If the gates are closed they will open automatically as you approach them.

BY TRAIN:
Travel from London Waterloo to Dorchester South. Journey time approx 3 hours. Frequency - regular hourly services during the week, limited services at weekends and Bank Holidays. Please let us know your time of arrival and we will meet you at the station; the House is only a five minute journey from Dorchester.
