Bed and Breakfast Description

 

Oaklea is a family run guest house offering a warm and friendly atmosphere and personal attention at all times, whether your stay is for business or pleasure.

Oaklea has fifteen fully equipped, comfortable bedrooms, and has a fully licensed bar. There is free Wi-Fi access with own wireless equipment.

We have 15 bedrooms, all en-suite. We have single, double and family rooms. All have colour television and tea/coffee making facilities. Each one has its unique charm. Some retain the original Victorian fireplaces, and other original features from 1860, the year that Oaklea was built.

Oaklea Guest House now has a ground floor twin bedded room with a bathroom specially equipped for the disabled or less able.

Sue and Steve Rust will be happy to make your stay as enjoyable and relaxing as possible whether it be for business or pleasure.

 

Hook Attractions

 
Hook is situated within easy travelling distance of many of the South's big attractions. Whether you want to visit a theme park, walk the hills of the North Downs or have a quiet round of golf, there's something in the area for you.

Family Days Out ~ Chessington World of Adventures is one of the most popular theme parks in the South. With its rides and attractions, it's a great day out for the family.

Legoland is also close by and is a favourite family day out.

More locally, Paulton's Park is close by and is a favourite especially with the younger children. Alternatively, Marwell Zoo is within easy reach.

Thorpe Park is another favourite with the children and adults alike. It has a series of rides suiting all ages, and isn't far away up the M3.

Sport ~ The Madejski stadium, home of Reading F.C. and London Irish is close by. This modern stadium hosts many major fixtures in both the rugby and football calendars. It's approximately 20 minutes away by car.
 

B&B Location
 
From Hook train station
Walk up the station approach road and continue north along Station Road (past the shops) until the center of Hook is reached. Then turn left along London Road (A30, towards Basingstoke) at the mini roundabout. Oaklea Guest House is on the right after about 400 yards.

From M3 Junction 5 ~ If coming from the South (Southampton) direction, take the second exit from the roundabout at the top of the M3 slip. If coming from the North (London) direction, take the fourth exit from the roundabout.

This exit is signposted to Hook via the B3349. Continue north along the B3349 for half a mile. At the roundabout, take the first exit, over the speed bumps. At the mini roundabout at the centre of Hook, take the first exit, the A30 signposted to Basingstoke. After 400 yards, Oaklea Guest House in on the right. Pull into the car park at the front of the house.

From M4 Junction 11 ~ Upon leaving the M4, take the exit signposted to Basingstoke (A33). Continue along the A33 across a roundabout. It is then dual-carriageway. Continue along this dual-carriageway for about 5 miles, then at the roundabout take the first exit. At the next roundabout, take the third exit (counting the exit to Wellington Park). At the next roundabout, continue straight across. Then go through Heckfield, Hound Green and Mattingley. At the roundabout in Hook, take the third exit signposted towards Baskingstoke. This is the A30. Take the second exit at the small roundabout in Hook centre. Oaklea Guest House is on the right after around 400 yards. Pull into the car park at the front of the house.

Oaklea is conveniently located for business and leisure just 5 minutes from junction 5 of the M3.
