Here at the Glenfern, we pride ourselves on offering you first class accommodation in a comfortable and friendly, family environment. Each of our rooms are tastefully decorated and provide excellent comfort and a great place to get a good nights sleep after your days activities. All rooms are en suite and boast many other additional facilities including television, radio, hostess tray, a selection of the finest toiletries and Hairdryer. Unrestricted 24 hour car parking and access is available to all guests.
On the ground floor we have a bright and fresh twin room, and we also have a double room which has a four poster bed – ideal for the romantics among you. Upstairs we have another twin room and also a single room which has the luxury of a small double bed.
We also offer a full range of breakfasts from continental through to a full Scottish breakfast including traditional Scottish haggis. Our breakfasts are cooked using only fresh produce to ensure a satisfying breakfast to kick start your day. (Also, if you would prefer a special breakfast, then we can accommodate this, providing you specify the requirements along with your booking). |

There are various local amenities just a short (2 minute) walk from the Guest House. The Guest House itself, is situated at the beginning of Loch Lomond and boasts, amongst other things, easy access to local transport. The area has so much to offer including Scotland ’s first National Park - The Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park .
Balloch itself is set amidst some of Scotland ’s most idyllic and unspoilt areas, it is engulfed by natural beauty and surrounded by some of the most spectacular scenery in Scotland . There are so many ways to enjoy the scenery including nature trails and Ranger service guided walks. Balloch also has its own country park which is home to Balloch Castle – built in 1808, and has a fantastic visitors centre.
Within Balloch and the surrounding areas of Gartocharn, Drymen and Luss there is a large variety of restaurants and pubs to suit every occasion and budget. In additon, there are lots of heritage trails and other points of interest along the Scottish Tourist routes that are provided by the Scottish Tourist Board.
During your stay at Balloch, why not enjoy a trip to one of Scotland ’s 6 major cities? Inverness, Aberdeen , Dundee, Glasgow , Stirling and Edinburgh are all within touring distance of the guest house.
All the major cities can be reached via Balloch train station, which is only a 5 minute walk from the guest house. Alternatively Glasgow City Centre and Stirling are around a 30 minutes drive from the Guest House and Edinburgh City Centre is around 1hour and 30 minutes drive. Glasgow, Stirling and Edinburgh are ideal for a fantastic day trip – all three cities boast amazing shopping opportunities and have an abundance of cafes, bars, restaurants, and clubs for refreshments. So why not enjoy a fantastic day out with the knowledge of having a comfortable “home from home” on your return? |

From Glasgow City Centre, head West out of the City along Great Western Road. Head onto the A82 and follow this road until the Stoneymollan Roundabout. At this roundabout, take the exit to the right onto A811, Old Military Road. At the next roundabout take the first exit onto Balloch Road, finally take the 3rd exit onto Drumkinnon Road. We are located at number 2.
We also offer a chauffeur service, by arrangement which can collect and return you to the airport, Glasgow City centre or anywhere within a reasonable distance of the Guest House. We also offer this service during your stay, ideal if you are going to a wedding or a party in the area and would like the reassurance of having a friendly transport service to and from your event. To find out what chauffeur options are available for your stay, mention that you would like to use the service to our bookings team.
