This charming stone built 300 year old property is owned and run by Jim & Diana Norman. The owners and staff pride themselves on providing a high level of service, in a relaxing environment, to all guests. The Poplars features a wide range of bedroom types, a licensed restaurant, free parking, and broadband access, free of charge in guest lounges. The Poplars is within easy reach of the centre of Northampton, and conveniently situated for visits to the many local attractions. It is an ideal location for Moulton Park and Round Spinney Business Park.
Each of our rooms is individually styled with modern comforts to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. The rooms range from executive style, with king sized beds to single rooms for the budget-conscious guest. Family rooms are also available. All rooms have remote control colour TV, hairdryer, hospitality tray, and complimentary mineral water. All our bedrooms are non smoking.
The Poplars is proud of its reputation for its excellent breakfasts. A well stocked cold buffet is complimented by a full English breakfast to suit all tastes and appetites. Our chef also prepares high quality evening meals, 4 nights a week, Monday to Thursday. A full restaurant service can also be made available to guests at the weekend, for a minimum of 8 diners. Seasonal, locally sourced ingredients are used whenever possible. Our cellar is stocked with a selection of international wines that can be enjoyed with your evening meal. 78 Derngate - Charles Rennie Mackintosh, the renowned Scottish architect, artist and designer, transformed this town house into a startlingly modern home. His last major commission features interiors of striking originality. Located in Northampton town centre, NN1 1UH.
Rockingham Castle - Built by William the Conqueror, Rockingham is the best-preserved example of a Norman Castle in Britain. A royal fortress for 450 years, it has been a much-loved family home since 1544. Beautifully furnished rooms tell the story of its long history. Surrounded by 18 acres of widely varying gardens the Castle commands spectacular views of 5 counties.
Lamport Hall - Home to the Isham family for over four centuries. Now run by The Preservation Trust, the hall contains an outstanding collection of furniture, paintings, and books. Home to the original garden gnomes. Wide programme of events and courses.
Royal & Derngate Theatre - Royal & Derngate is the main venue for arts and entertainment in Northampton. Recently the subject of a £15 million redevelopment project, the theatre offers two auditoria and Underground, a creativity centre that's home to the Youth Theatre and a wide range of workshops and projects for the local community.
Deene Park - Deene is a largely sixteenth-century house incorporating a medieval manor. It is built around a courtyard and has important rooms added during the reign of George 111. Deene has belonged to the Brudenell family since 1514 and was the seat of the Earls of Cardigan, of whom the most notable was the 7th who led the charge of the Light Brigade at Balaklava in 1854. |

From the North: M1 or M6 use junc.19 M1/M6 interchange. Take the A14 to the second exit A508. Follow A508 (south) towards Northampton. After approx 9 miles and two roundabouts take the first exit at the third roundabout to Boughton, next village is Moulton, see map.
From the South: M1 use junc. 15 take A508(A45) in direction of Northampton. Follow outer ring road (A45) go over river, after approx ½ mile take A43 slip road signposted Kettering, past the Weston Favell Shopping Centre, at the Second roundabout take third exit A43 Kettering after 400yds left turn Ashley Lane into Moulton, follow map below to Hotel.
