Located in central Oxford (just a stone’s throw from the City Centre) and with views over Queen’s College playing fields, The Falcon offers bed and breakfast accommodation in two Victorian town houses.
Easily reached from an excellent network of major roads (we have private guest car parking) or via public transport (Oxford’s rail and coach stations are just 1 mile away), The Falcon is an ideal base from which to explore and enjoy the ‘City of Dreaming Spires’.
All our 16 rooms have en-suite, with shower facilities, and all the other facilities you’d expect of a 3 star establishment including a comfortable guest lounge relax and unwind in after a hard day’s work or play.
Children of all ages are welcome at The Falcon and cots can be provided for the little ones.
The Falcon, originally two Victorian town houses offers quality accommodation in 16 comfortably furnished en-suite rooms.
Each of our centrally heated guest bedrooms is non-smoking and features en-suite bathroom with shower facilities, Remote control television,
Radio alarm clock, Hospitality tray, Direct dial telephone and a Hair dryer.
We also have ironing facilities available, cots for the little ones, plus a comfortable guest lounge for relaxation. |

Famed the world over as an historic seat of learning, Oxford, the ‘City of Dreaming Spires’ has so much to offer to the visitor. Not only the University and its colleges but also a wealth of museums, art galleries, theatres, parks & gardens, restaurants, shopping and much much more.
Within walking distance of the city centre and on a major bus route, The Falcon offers easy access to Oxford’s many attractions, such as the Ashmolean Museum; the University’s Natural History and Pitt Rivers museums, as well as the famous Bodleian Library and Radcliffe Camera.
For those who enjoy a stroll, there are a number of excellent guided walking tours of the city available, including trips along the Thames Path to Iffley Lock - with its idyllic lock keeper’s cottage. River walkers can also enjoy a ‘swift refresher’ overlooking the Isis (and its numerous resident waterfowl) from the Head of the River’s picturesque beer garden at Folly Bridge.
Also at Folly Bridge, the more adventurous can try out the time-honoured tradition of punting, or explore Oxford from the water with a relaxing river cruise instead. Alternatively, land lubbers can join the Oxford City Sightseeing Tour whose open-topped buses stop in nearby Speedwell Street.
Those in need of a little retail therapy can shop ’til they drop in the city centre with big names as well as unique little gems such as the Lewis Carroll inspired, Alice’s Shop and Oxford’s historic Covered Market - which first opened for business in 1774.
In the evening, visitors might like to catch the latest production in the Oxford Playhouse or the New Theatre or enjoy a meal in a city centre restaurant, before returning to The Falcon for a well-earned rest. |

Oxford is centrally located and easily reached from an excellent network of major roads.
If you are driving: Join the Oxford ring road and at the junction with the A4144, take the Abingdon Road in towards Oxford City Centre. Follow this road for approximately 1 mile and you will see the Falcon on your left hand side.
Should you be arriving in Oxford via train (Oxford Train Station) or coach (Gloucester Green Coach Station), we would suggest making use of a taxi. There are always taxis available at the stations, costing around £5, which will bring you and your luggage straight to our front door.
