Recently restored and enlarged, The Old Chapel dates from 1861. The plain brick building gives the passer-by no indication of the surprising interior...a spacious, warm and peaceful home, backing onto fields and meadows. Relax in the large but cosy drawing room, with a book chosen from the well stocked library, or snooze beside a log fire after a steam in the sauna. Enjoy the conservatory and garden where breakfast may be served in Summertime. Lovely level country walks are to be had just over the garden fence and several superb golf courses are nearby. No hassle on-road parking.
The Old Chapel B & B has one single and two large, comfortable king-size double rooms. One double room, overlooking the garden, has an en-suite power shower. The other double, or 'family room', also has a single bed and has use of a private luxury bathroom. Both rooms have tv, radio, hot drinks facilities and toiletries. Hairdryer, fans, iron and ironing board also available. Both bedrooms have a mix of antique and modern furniture and are decorated for calm, restful nights. Bottles of mineral water, books and magazines are on hand. Cots and camp beds for children are available on request and we have a baby monitor you may use - but we do not offer a baby sitting service.
Whether Traditional English Cooked or Continental Style, we are happy to tailor each breakfast to suit - scrambled eggs or fried? Earl Grey or English Breakfast? Our breakfasts include locally sourced, organic produce and homemade preserves. Breakfast is usually served between 7.30am and 10.00am, but if you need an earlier start just let us know. Guests may either join us informally in our large farmhouse style kitchen and watch breakfast being prepared, or eat in the more formal dining room overlooking the garden. In warm weather breakfast may be taken in the garden or conservatory. |
