Betws-y-Coed Attractions

Bodnant Garden is one of the most beautiful gardens in the UK, covering some 80 acres and situated above the River Conwy on ground sloping towards the west and looking across the valley towards the Snowdonia range.

Set in North Wales, high above Colwyn Bay with panoramic views and breathtaking scenery, its beautiful gardens are home to this caring conservation zoo. Roam the wooded pathways, relax on the grassy slopes and spend a lovely day learning about many rare and endangered species from Britain and around the world.

Llechwedd Slate Caverns is not your average museum! Set in 2000 acres of land above the town of Blaenau Ffestiniog we’re a living, working slate mine that has been active since opening in 1836. We offer 2 very individual and unique underground experiences that take you deep into the mountain to explore the mysterious world of the Victorian slate miner. Believe it or not the temperature underground is a pleasant 54F throughout the year making the caverns ideal for a day out come rain or shine.

Since 1896 visitors from around the world have travelled on Snowdon Mountain Railway. Trains travel to the Summit of Snowdon, which at 3,560ft (1085m), is the highest mountain in England and Wales, where the surrounding countryside boasts dramatic landscape and scenery. This unique railway is one of the most popular visitor attractions in North Wales. For more than 113 years holiday makers and day trippers have been appreciating the truly spectacular views they have experienced while claiming the ascent of Snowdon as a lifetime adventure. As the train climbs through the atmospheric landscape of Snowdon passengers can absorb themselves in the rich myth, legend and history Snowdonia has to offer.
