Our BNB is a local building of historic interest. Garden and/or patio area for guests Hairdryers are available in rooms or on request. There is a leisure centre nearby. We're sorry, we do not accept pets. We have on-site parking.
We have a residents lounge. There are scenic walks in the surrounding area. Smoking is not permitted in the establishment. We accept Sterling Cheques. All rooms have tea and coffee making facilities. Our BNB is a working farm.

Bed and Breakfast Description

 

Guests' facilities include a spacious bedroom with luxury en-suite shower room and a dedicated sitting room with flat screen TV, DVD and multi-fuel stove. Guests are welcome to make use of the patio area and barbecue. Breakfasts include home-made bread, cereals & preserves, eggs from our own hens and honey from our own bees. Other items are locally sourced and organic when available.

The house is accessed via a long, gated driveway. It is a sympathetically modernised stone long house and is packed with character and original features. A picturesque brook runs past the house and the animals kept at the smallholding include hens, ducks, sheep and honey bees. Anyone interested in birds and other wildlife will appreciate the small, natural woodland and the parts of the grounds that have been reserved for wildlife.

 

Bala Attractions

 
Cilgwri is located 8 miles from the popular town of Bala and within easy reach of the picturesque market town of Ruthin, the inland resort of Llangollen and the National Park of Snowdonia. Both North and West coasts are less than 1 hour's drive away and it's convenient for numerous outdoor activities such as white water rafting, sailing, kayaking & canoeing, orienteering, windsurfing and many more.
 

B&B Location
 
From Bala:
Take the A494 towards the A5 and Corwen. After about 7 miles pass through Glan-yr-Afon and turn right into a small lane immediately after a lay-bye on the right. The lay-bye and junction are about 300 metres after the filling station in the village.

From Corwen on the A5:
Head West towards Betws-y-Coed and Snowdonia for about 2 miles. Turn left at traffic lights onto the A494 signposted "Bala". After a further mile turn left into a small lane immediately after a lay-bye on the right hand side and just before entering the village of Glan-yr-Afon.

From both directions:
After travelling about 300 metres down the lane, Cilgwri's farm track can be seen on the right and is about 600 metres long. There is a farm gate in the lane and 2 others (usually tied open) in the track.
