Bed and Breakfast Description

The guest house is set in a very beautiful part of Wales, where rural ways of life and picturesque sceneries predominate. The small market town of Bala, which is located at the downstream end of the largest natural lake in Wales, is only 3 miles away and offers a wide choice of leisure facilities including the National White Water Centre. Snowdonia National Park and its host of attractions is within easy travelling distance. This makes Erw Feurig an ideal base for enjoying the natural beauty and amenities of North and Mid-Wales.

The owners of the guest house are Gareth and Glenys Jones, and the property has been in the Jones family for three generations. Erw Feurig is set in 200 acres of farmland that is grazed by mountain sheep and a herd of cattle. Gareth and Glenys speak Welsh with their family, neighbours and most of the local villagers. Gareth and Glenys have been running the guest house for over 30 years, and are proud to have hosted visitors from many parts of the world. They have made friends with many guests and welcome some of them back to Erw Feurig on almost an annual basis.

Erw Feurig has been extended from a small farm cottage into a modern guest house. It is located on a hillside and offers breathtaking views of the Berwyn Mountains on the opposite side of the valley. The car park provides sufficient space for six vehicles. The guest house offers a choice of accommodation in twin, double or family rooms. Two of the upstairs rooms include en-suite facilities and the third room has its own private detached bathroom. Guests in the downstairs twin room have private access to a detached shower and toilet.

Bala Attractions

Erw Feurig is ideally located as a base for exploring and visiting the many attractions in North and Mid-Wales. These attractions include: Canolfan Tryweryn (National Whitewater Centre), Bala Lake Railway, Electric Mountain, Llangollen Warf, Portmeirion Village, Caernarfon Castle, Ffestiniog Railway, Bodelwyddan Castle, The Welsh Slate Museum & Llechwedd Slate Caverns.

B&B Location

The northern part of Wales is easily reached by road. Erw Feurig is located within one and a half hours' drive from Manchester Airport. The nearest railway station is located less than an hour's drive away in Wrexham, and public buses also serve the Bala area.

Most visitors to Erw Feurig follow the A5 road through Llangollen and take the A494 road towards Bala, after passing through the town of Corwen. The access road to Erw Feurig is located approximately 6 miles along the A494 and is the first turning on the right after passing the village of Sarnau. A green B&B sign marks the junction.
