Penrhos B&B is surrounded by lush countryside with breathtaking views of the Black Mountains and up onto Pen y Fan, the highest mountain in southern Britain. Penrhos is a unique B&B that offers more than the norm.
The completely self-contained 18th century Dairy has been renovated to provide 2 well appointed double en-suite rooms, named after the 2 highest peaks in the Brecon Beacons. Both rooms have guest regulated central heating with TV and DVD viewed either from the sofa or from the bed. Hot drinks, homemade biscuits and snack making facilities are available.
Corn Du is a ground floor double bedroom with spacious wet-room shower. Wide access doors make this room wheelchair friendly. Pen y Fan is an upstairs oak beamed double room with extra bed and spacious shower. Sitting/Dining area has a wood burning stove and french doors opening onto a private courtyard garden. Shepherds Hut is a custom built reproduction of a traditional hill shelter as used by shepherds on the South Downs in the 1800s. A wood burning stove, sofa and french doors make the hut a great venue for fine evenings that turn a little chilly later.
We use naturally produced fruit, vegetables and meat from the smallholding. Bread, cakes, desserts and preserves are all homemade. Meals are served at a time to suit you in the dining area of the dairy. Rosemary is happy to cater for any dietary requirements. Breakfast - Traditional welsh breakfast: sausages, bacon, duck or hen eggs, mushrooms and tomato or scrambled eggs with smoked salmon. Cereals, porridge, juices, fresh and stewed fruit with yoghurt are always available. Dinner - 3 course evening meals available by prior arrangement, see sample menu below. BBQ baskets – snacks, lamb or pork chops, sausages, salad, potatoes, bread or foccacia and dessert - provided either in the courtyard or at the Shepherds Hut in the orchard. |
