Bed and Breakfast Description

We can now offer guests two double en suites & two twin en-suites. Ground floor accommodation with king size bed, also a twin bedded en suite room. Up the spiral staircase we have a double en-suite with mountain views.

The small cafe/tea room offers a variety of meals for all visitors, ranging from light snacks and ice-creams to larger meals and breakfasts. Much of the food is home cooked by Eirian.

Across the road the River Llugwy flows past, running down towards the spectacular Swallow Falls - great walking trips are possible only a few feet from the door. If you are not feeling up to anything too physical, why not sit and enjoy a drink on our patio, and watch the world go by. And if walking is your thing, buses run frequently to and from Snowdon - the bus stop is only a few feet from the cafe. Whatever you want, a warm welcome and wonderful hospitality awaits you at the Bryn Glo.

Betws-y-Coed Attractions

Walking is, obviously, the favourite past-time of many of our guests. Just being a few miles from either Ogwen Valley with Tryfan, the Glyders and the Carneddau, or turn left and almost the same short distance to the Snowdon range itself. Walk from the front of the hotel up Moel Siabod (2900ft) or from the back, a two hour approx. walk will bring you to Llyn Crafnant - armed with a map the list is endless.

The area can supply routes from the scenic and gentle to extreme and testing with bikes and maps available locally. Why not hire a guide - such as John Ellis Roberts MBE - a fully qualified alpine guide. His truly unique knowledge of the national Park is amazing, and comes from being Head Warden for many years. He has taken early retirement to devote more time to his biking, team triathlons, guiding clients off and on skies in the Alps, and showing visitors parts of Snowdonia that only he knows. He can also take young and older clients abseiling.

There is a dry ski slope only 2 miles from the cafe in Plas-y-Brenin - some amazing views and a great afternoon is available. Ask for further details and/or directions, or speak to Jayne, a nationally qualified skiing instructor, at the Tyn-y-Coed hotel.

What better spot to tour the attractions of North and Mid Wales - castles, steam trains, gardens, museums, copper and slate mines, spas, potteries, beaches - the possibilities appear unlimited - all reached by driving through some of Britain's most beautiful scenery. There are many attractions for children, ranging from farm parks to fun fairs. Llandudno, 35 minutes away, boasts an excellent theater with varied entertainment, including a weeks visit by the Welsh National Opera every July. Visit two Celtic countries at the same time - the Stena HSS takes a mere 99 minutes and offers day trips from Holyhead to Dublin. Whatever you seek from your holiday or break that North Wales provides, Capel Curig - its heart - is the ideal place to stay.
