Bed and Breakfast Description

Welcome to Ffynnonddewi Guest House, close to picturesque Pont Gogoyan, one of the few crossing points across the River Teifi. The house has been refurbished recently to provide modern and comfortable accommodation whilst retaining some of the original features and charm. The property is centrally heated throughout and equipped and decorated to a high standard to reflect the Welsh Tourist Board guest house 4 star rating.

Both bedrooms have access to en suite facilities. The king-size bedroom has a shower room with basin and toilet. The double room has a private toilet and basin and private use of the main bathroom. The bathroom has a power shower and a Jacuzzi bath to make your stay a truly relaxing experience. Each room has colour TV, tea making facilities, clock radio, hair dryer and bathrobes. A third twin bedroom is available with shared access to the main bathroom.

Complimentary afternoon tea with Welsh cakes will greet you on arrival and you are welcome to relax in the lounge. Guests may explore the garden which is being gradually restocked and restored to its former glory. An Information Pack about the area is available plus O.S. maps and details of places of interest.

Welsh breakfast and evening meals are prepared using local produce whenever possible and some grown in our own garden. Particular dietary requirements can be catered for with prior notice. There is a wide choice of breakfast menus to suit all tastes including vegetarian options.

Tregaron Attractions

Ffynnonddewi Guesthouse is close to the banks of the River Teifi, a famous sewin and salmon river. The Pont Gogoyan is a natural crossing point that was once a ford and Ffynnonddewi was the local forge and a busy meeting point up to the 1960s. Now it is a quiet country lane.

The valley rises gently into the foothills of the Cambrian mountains and all around is both sheep and diary farming pasture. Red kites and buzzards are regularly seen over the garden and swans and Canadian geese return throughout the year to nest by Pont Gogoyan.

One mile away is the village of Llanddewi Brefi. Always famous for its very historical church where St David preached, it is now internationally known because of the TV show ’Little Britain’. In fact many people think it’s a fictional place, but be assured there is a pub and a shop and some wonderful views across the mountains and river at any time of the year. The University town of Lampeter is 7 miles away and the unspoilt coastline of Cardigan Bay is 15 miles away at Aberaeron.
