Kington Attractions

Kington is an historic town 30 minutes drive northwest of Hereford and 2 miles from the Welsh border, making it an ideal location to explore the beautifully unspoilt countryside of the area.

Kington is a centre for walkers as Offa’s Dyke Path (177 mile national trail) runs through Kington. The shorter 30 mile Mortimer Trail starts in Kington and ends in Ludlow. Cyclists will find Kington is a prime mountain-biking destination and if travelling into Wales. For less strenuous cycling, there are small lanes with little traffic and unspoilt countryside - the Tourist Information Centre has suggested routes.

The nationally famous Hergest Croft Gardens (open weekends in March then daily until 1st November) extends over 70 acres with more than 5,000 rare trees and shrubs and has four distinct gardens: The Azalea Garden, the Maple Grove, the Kitchen Garden and Park Wood.

Kington Golf Club is the highest in England with superb views over the Black Mountains and Offa’s Dyke. Visiting players are welcome.
