Bed and Breakfast Description

Welcome to Hillgarth House, a private B&B in the National Park Authority of Pembrokeshire and just 10 minutes walk from the Pembrokeshire Coast Path. We welcome visitors and walkers to this beautiful corner of South Pembrokeshire. Here you can relax in one of our three country house en-suite rooms in this spacious, Edwardian style, former Military Commandant’s Residence. It stands above the delightful coastal village of Manorbier, in two acres of tranquil lawned gardens. Nearby Tenby is one of Pembrokeshire’s prettiest coastal towns.

Restored to its former glory, Hillgarth House was completely refurbished in 2009 and now offers the best of old world comfort and style with contemporary bathrooms and fittings. Your comfort has been the priority as we’ve refurbished Hillgarth House. The Waterbed Suite is for ultimate comfort and relaxation. The Commandant’s Rooms, has one double and one single bedroom with a shared ensuite bathroom. Ideal if you are holidaying with a parent, friend, son or daughter but would all like to stay in one suite. The twin room is perfect for friends on holiday together.

Take time over your breakfast, looking down the curving driveway and onto mature trees. It is beautifully decorated and has a TV and leather sofa if you want to have a slow start to the day. Double neo-Georgian doors link the breakfast room with the dining room. The double aspect room looks out over the lawns to the east and the sweeping drive to the south. In the centre is a one hundred and fifty year old solid oak dining table which pivots over to become a billiard/pool/snooker table. There is also a dart board mounted on the wall and board games for you to enjoy if the rain comes to visit.

Tenby Attractions

From Hillgarth B&B in Manorbier in the Pembrokeshire National Park West Wales you are in easy reach of the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path, glorious beaches, ancient castles, tourist attractions, delightful coastal villages and the charming town of Tenby.

Manorbier is in The Pembrokeshire National Park Authority, the first National Park to be designated for its coastline. Manorbier Castle is a fairy tale medieval castle, open to the public right next to the beautiful sandy beach popular with surfers and families. The village of Manorbier is delightful with its pretty coastal cottages perched on narrow, wiggly lanes that wind their way down to the beach. There is a Norman Church, village store, Post Office, Village Tea Rooms and the pub where you can enjoy lunch and evening meals. Other nearby beaches are Amroth, Wiseman’s Bridge, Saundersfoot and Fresh Water East (all within 8 miles of Manorbier).

We particularly welcome walkers who come to South Pembrokeshire to walk parts of The Pembrokeshire Coastal Path. The path stretches for 186 miles along some of the most spectacular coastal scenery in Britain and is only 10 minutes walk away from Hillgarth House B&B. There is a lovely tea room right by Stackpole Quay which makes a great stop off if you are walking the Coast Path.

The historic walled town of Tenby with its harbour and North and South beaches is only 5.4. miles from Hillgarth House B&B. From here you can catch a boat to Caldey Island which is inhabited by a community of monks.
