The Melita was built in 1888 and is one of the larger Victorian buildings in Stratford-upon-Avon. The property became a bed and breakfast in 1935 and has been welcoming visitors to Stratford and RSC theatre goers ever since.
The Melita B&B has a total of twelve bedrooms ten of which are en suite and two have private facilities. All our rooms are individually decorated and appointed ensuring that no two rooms are alike. Whilst making alterations every effort has been made to retain the Victorian feel of this charming house. The Melita's accommodation has been constantly refurbished, and every effort has been made to achieve and maintain the highest standards of comfort and more importantly cleanliness.
Room choice includes 1 single with private facilities along the corridor, 2 singles en suite one being on the ground floor, 2 family rooms one en suite, one with private bathroom both on the second floor and each accommodating up to 4 people, 1 twin room en suite, 1 small double en suite often used as a single, 4 standard doubles/twins en suite, 3 superior doubles/twins 2 en suite 1 with private bathroom (2 of these rooms are the family rooms). There are a total of 3 ground floor rooms at the back of the house, 2 of which open out onto the garden.
Most of our standard double bedded rooms, and all of our superior rooms are furnished with Emperor sized beds, 6' x 6'3". These are extremely popular with all our clientele.
We welcome well behaved pets. These are charged at £5.00 per night and we ask that you do not leave them in the bedroom whilst enjoying the theatre. Experience has proved that they are happier in their owners car.
We believe we have an extensive breakfast menu that caters for all tastes and diets. However some diets are particularly sensitive so please feel free to supply your own bread, milk etc., and we shall be happy to prepare the items according to your instructions. |
