Visit Wales 3 Star Rating

Bed and Breakfast Description

Welcome to the Beaufort Arms! Recently awarded 3 star status by the Welsh Tourist Organisation 'Visit Wales'; the Beaufort Arms has everything to rival the bigger more expensive hotels all with the added benefit of the personal touch.

All of our rooms have a wonderful character and retain the original oak beams - this is a 17th Century Inn after all! The bar of the Beaufort Arms is typical of a 17th Century coaching inn, as you walk through the door you are greeted by the bar and a friendly host to serve your pint and make you welcome.

Abergavenny Attractions

Few people have heard of Gilwern, but millions of people know Abergavenny; famous for its food festival, walking festival, Castle, market and much, much more. As you can see, Gilwern is situatuated less than three miles outside of Abergavenny and provides an exellent 'base camp' for exploring the great outdoors as well as Abergavenny itself. Whilst many people may visit for the day or even the weekend during events, the area deserves much more time and attention to explore the surrounding areas including the Brecon Beacons National Park.

Just five miles to the west will bring you up a steep mountain to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Blaenavon; with it's Mining Museum and CADW protected Iron Works, once the second largest iron works in Europe playing a key role in the Industrial revolution. Another legacy from the same historic preiod are the beautiful canals - once used to transport supplied and products to the many iron works in the area they are now used for leisure boats.

Visitors staying at the Beaufort Arms can reach the historic sights of Abergavenny Castle, and Clydach Iron Works within 3 miles.
