Bed and Breakfast Description

Merman Barn is a high quality B&B where Linda and Andrew offer a warm welcome, good food, 3 en suite comfortable rooms and a guest lounge. There is a quiet area for Internet access, private parking and a walled garden. We welcome walkers and cyclists. Merman Barn is an ideal place for a special time away from it all as well as for a family ‘get together’. We are committed to making your stay as enjoyable as possible and would gladly arrange any special requests you may have.

All the rooms are tastefully furnished with comfort and cleanliness being our priority. Each bedroom has a comfortable bed with a good quality mattress, a colour flat screen TV, a clock radio, a mini fridge for your fresh milk, wine etc., hot drink-making facilities, biscuits, chocolates and fresh flowers. The en suite shower rooms have good quality towels including extra large bath sheets and complimentary toiletries. The central heating radiators can be adjusted for your comfort in the bedrooms and the shower rooms.

The lounge is a comfortable area, centrally heated with a log fire, for the exclusive use of guests. There are novels, board games and videos, and a good selection of details of visitor attractions and local walks. We serve refreshments in the lounge on arrival.

We regret that we cannot accommodate children or pets. Merman Barn is a no smoking establishment.

Buxton Attractions

Tideswell, known as the ‘Cathedral of the Peak’ is an ideal base from which to explore the Derbyshire Peak District, whether it is by car, bike or on foot. Tideswell is particularly popular for its many walks. We are officially both walker- and cyclist-friendly.

There are four pubs and two fish and chip shops and Vanilla Kitchen, an excellent cafe that occasionally does evening meals should you wish to take your evening meal within walking distance.

Castleton, Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Buxton Spa Town, the old Market Town of Bakewell and many other places to visit are all near by.
