Bed and Breakfast Description

 

Built in the 1870’s for Lord Hocking, it has fabulous views across to Godrevy Lighthouse and St Ives Bay. Enjoy a traditional Lord Hocking breakfast (free range eggs, local sausage and bacon, mushrooms and tomatoes), a Lighthouse Keepers breakfast (scrambled eggs and smoked salmon) or a breakfast of your choice. All breakfasts are served with orange juice, cafétière coffee or tea, fresh fruit, homemade bread and toast in the dining room overlooking Gwithian church and Godrevy Lighthouse.

There is a comfortable lounge that you are welcome to use with the same fantastic views and the added advantage of an open fire on those chilly evenings.

One of the Double bedrooms has its own bathroom ensuite. The other Double room, the Twin room and the Single room each have showers ensuite, and there’s an extra bathroom for serious relaxation!

 

Hayle Attractions

 
House guests can walk to one of the finest sandy beaches in the country, join the South West Coast Path or simply potter down to the local pub for a pint and a snack.

The South West Coast Path is Britain's longest National Trail, running from Minehead in Somerset to South Haven Point near Poole Dorset and passing close to Calize Country House at Gwithian on the shore of St Ives Bay in Cornwall.

The easiest way to find us is to follow the A30 through Cornwall and:

Exit the A30 at Camborne (West) on to A3047,
Turn left and then right at the roundabout towards Connor Downs (unclassified road).
On entering Connor Downs, just before the 30 mph sign at the crossroads turn right (signposted campsite and Gwithian).
Continue for approximately 2 miles.
Just past the sign at the approach to Gwithian village you will find Calize Country House on the right (about 3.7 miles from the A30)
