Bed and Breakfast Description

Our cosy hotel is renowned for its charm and friendliness and provides the perfect base for walking the 'Three Peaks' or the Wainwright walk to Crummackdale from our front door. We work hard at informality and subtle attention as we feel this is the best way to ensure your relaxation and tranquility. The provision of lashings of fresh country air is complimentary...please help yourself.

The Traddock has twelve ensuite rooms – each with its own individual character and décor – and each is dressed with all the comforts and homely touches that you would desire. We use Sheridan cotton sheets with soft & luxurious duck down duvets (sheets and blankets if you prefer).

The rooms are equipped with full tea and coffee making facilities, LCD TV's & we offer free Wifi Internet access throughout the hotel. Bathrooms have a selection of Molton Brown toiletries and big, soft, towels. Most rooms have impressive views of the surrounding countryside.

Open minded as to what makes a fine meal, The Traddock’s award winning restaurant Chefs create dishes that are a blend of the traditional and the unfamiliar and pride themselves on using organic, local and seasonal ingredients. Mouth watering dishes of Dales Bred Fillet Steak with Dauphinoise Potatoes, Caramelised Banana Shallots and Madeira Sauce or a Roasted Fillet of Sea Bass served with
Sauce Vierge, Fondant Potatoes and Sauteed Spinach are often found on the extensive dinner menu.

Settle Attractions

Austwick and the Yorkshire Dales National Park offers some dramatic scenery and spectacular walks – literally from our doorstep! We are perfectly positioned for the Three Peaks of Whernside, Pen-y-ghent and Ingleborough.

Also in the immediate locality is some of the most dramatic limestone scenery in Europe, including the Ingleborough Cave, with its dazzling stalactites and stalagmites. Nearby is Malham Cove, once a waterfall and now an impressive cliff topped by an extensive area of limestone pavement.

The renowned Settle to Carlisle Railway – passing through some of the most spectacular Dales & Lakeland landscapes including the Ribblehead Viaduct – is a popular day out.

Enjoying a few days or even weeks in the Dales is probably one of the best ways of relaxing and appreciating the beautiful surroundings of this magnificent countryside.

In order for you to fully enjoy your stay at the Austwick Traddock we have teamed up with the Yorkshire Dales Guides and can now offer a full itinerary of sporting and outdoor pursuits including fishing, shooting, pony trekking, quad biking and golf.
