Originally the Victorian home of a local mill owner, the property was converted to a Hotel some time ago. Purchased by the current owners in December 2007, the property has since gone through a continued program of improvements, refurbishment and modernisation. This has resulted in the English Tourist Board upgrading the star rating from 3 to 4 star guest accommodation. we now have 21 rooms all with their own private bathroom/shower room and include Queen Rooms (6' bed or can be split to 2 x 3' twin room) King rooms (5' bed), twin room ( 2 x 3' beds), family rooms (one with 3 x 3' and one with a king size bed and 3' bed), junior double (4'6" bed, which is normally let as a single but can be a small double if needed) and finally our standard single with a 3' bed.
All rooms have recently had new furniture installed with new gas central heating, new flat screen digital tv, wi-fi, tea and coffee facilities. The Hotel is non-smoking but does have a designated smoking area in the grounds. We regret that at the present time we do not provide food other than our Breakfast Menu as we have found that in the majority of cases our visitors prefer to eat out. There are several good restaurants within the area and we are happy to advise you of them. Our bar is still open, but now operated as a 'waiter service'. The drinks menu is available whether you are in your own room, breakfast room 1 (which also doubles up on an evening as the TV lounge) or outside on the terrace or in the garden. |
