Athena Guest House is a friendly guest house in Oxford offering accommodation in double, triple, family bedrooms all en-suite (with washbasin, toilet, bath facilities), water filter, tea & coffee welcome trays and colour TV/DVD Player.
Each room has wire (RJ45 Cable) and wireless Internet access through cable broadband (so what ever your own laptop has or not have wireless network card, it always work on internet stably).
We also provide a public PC for clients to check email and surf free fast speed internet.
Our house is one of the original red brick Victorian detached houses in the area and has a lot of charm and atmosphere.
We are registered with The Automobile Association (AA) and the Southern Tourist Board. Our Rate is 3 Star assessed by the the AA.
Breakfast is included in our prices. Our dining room offers comfortable seating and a breakfast bar with a selection of cereals, fruit, yoghurt, orange juice and grapefruit as available. You can choose from our full English breakfast of sausage, bacon, egg, beans, hash browns and tomatoes or Continental breakfast which, while lighter, is just as satisfying with a selection of cheese, ham and boiled egg as available. Vegetarians can have a cooked meal of Egg, vegetarian sausages, hash browns, beans, mushrooms and tomatoes or cereal, toast, yogurt and fruit as a light option. |

Oxford Attractions |

There are many attractions in and around Oxford that you might like to visit. As well as being a historic university town, Oxford is a very cosmopolitan city with all the modern chain shops represented as well as many small businesses. There are many restaurants, cafés and pubs located in Headington itself, as well as in and around Oxford. There is plenty of evening entertainment with theatres, cinemas and clubs abounding.
Oxford City is a historic University town with many interesting colleges and associated architecture. Christ Church College is particularly well known with its halls and cathedral. Associated to the colleges are libraries and museums like the well-known Ashmolean Museum. There are also many parks dotted around the city that one can visit. A walk along the river is a relaxing way to spend the day and in the evening a visit to the cinema, theatre, nightclub, restaurant or pub would be in order. If you prefer you can view the city on an open top bus where you also have the opportunity to get off at any time for sightseeing. |

We are located in the centre of East Oxford, which has its own shopping area and is conveniently located for the Nuffield, Churchill and John Radcliffe Hospitals. It is also close to Business Park, Brookes University and within easy reach of Oxford City Centre by car or bus. A coach stop to London, or airports, is within 10 minutes walking distance from the house, and the coach service to London is every 10 minutes. It takes approximately 1 hour to reach Marble Arch in London and 50 minutes to Heathrow airport.
By car from the M40 northbound (also A40 westbound), Leave the M40 at Junction 8 (A40). At the first roundabout take the first exit and follow signposts for Oxford Business Park till you see the BMW plant on the left. Take the slip road down to the roundabout. At the roundabout take the fourth exit along Garsington Road. Continue on Garsington road and oxford road towards to cowley and city centre, Athena Guest House will be found on the right side of Cowley road, and just near Lear & Lear Estate Agents..
By car from the M40 southbound (also A40 eastbound and A44 approaches), Leave motorway at Junction 9 and take the A34 in the direction of Oxford. After leaving the A34 at the sign showing the A44 and Oxford, turn left, and at the first roundabout where the A44 joins the A40, turn left again on to the ring road. Continue around the eastern section of the ring road and follow sign posts to Oxford Business Park until you see the BMW factory on the left. Turn off here on the slip road down to the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the fourth exit along Garsington Road. Continue on Garsington road and oxford road towards to cowley and city centre, Athena Guest House will be found on the right side of Cowley road, and just near Lear & Lear Estate Agents.
