Bed and Breakfast Description

Set deep in a secluded location within a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, our home, garden and adjoining 8 acres provide an idyllic haven from the stress and strain of everyday living.

Snuggle into crisp sheets and a soft duvet for a restful night's sleep. Our luxurious first floor double room has uninterrupted countryside views and a large en suite bathroom with a bath and separate shower cubicle, whilst the superb ground floor double/twin room overlooks the rear garden and boasts a large walk-in shower in the en suite bathroom.

We are privileged to enjoy direct access onto open moorland from the garden gate, and have adequate horse trailer parking within the private car park. Add to this the availability of secure tack storage, plentiful grazing, and fresh water within our surrounding fields, and you have the ideal opportunity to bring your horse on holiday! In addition to our road-free moorland access, there are numerous scenic bridleways to explore.

For our two-legged guests, this area is criss-crossed with wonderful walks, from gentle strolls to the more challenging peaks of Ingleborough, Whernside and Pen-y-Ghent. If guests are even more energetic, we offer securely locked storage for mountain and road bikes or caving equipment. A hosepipe and drying facilities are always readily available.

If the thought of so much activity is off-putting, guests are welcome to use our spacious lounge and extensive garden area - why not curl up in winter with a good book in front of the woodburning stove, or relax on a summers day in one of the sunny sheltered areas of the garden?

Our tariff includes a full English or Continental breakfast, whilst evening meals, packed lunches and flask refills are available upon request. We cater for Coeliac and vegetarian diets with pleasure and will endeavour to meet any other dietary requirements.

You may wish to get away from it all, but there is so much to see and do here. Nearby are the picturesque villages of Clapham, Austwick and Ingleton, whilst the traditional market towns of Settle and Kirkby Lonsdale are within easy reach.

The following attractions are all within easy access: Bentham and Settle golf courses (10 minutes), Falconry Centre (10 minutes), Horse Health Farm (10 minutes), Settle-Carlisle Railway (10 minutes), Waterfall walk (10 minutes), White Scar Caves (10 minutes), Stocks Reservoir (fly fishing) (15 minutes) & The Lake District (45 minutes).

From the M6, Junction 36, take the A65 via Kirkby Lonsdale and Ingleton. Passing the first left hand turn to Clapham village, take the second right hand turn (signed 'Clapham Station and Keasden'). Stay on this road and under the railway bridge on to the moor following signs for 'Slaidburn'. After approximately one mile, turn right at the crossroads (Bentham), then first left down a gravel track opposite a farm.

Follow the track down, round and over the beck, once over the bridge turn right and follow the track to the end. Then turn around to admire the view!
