Bay Tree Farm is a stewardship farm providing habitat for a wide variety of birds and wildlife including, curlews, lapwings, oyster catchers, grey partridge and brown hares. There are so many things to do within easy driving distance that you are spoilt for choice, everything from castles and stately homes, to gardens and wide open countryside.
Valerie and Andrew Leeming have been offering traditional farmhouse hospitality at their working farm since 1982. The comfortable accommodation is in an 18th Century converted sandstone barn with views over the surrounding countryside. This conversion, as well as the guest bedrooms, has its own kitchen, reception area, dining room and sitting room with huge fireplace and French windows into the garden. Evening meals are available on request. Valerie is a trained Home Economist and uses fresh produce sourced locally whenever possible, including beef from their own farm.
All the bedrooms have views onto the garden and over open countryside. Most have high ceilings and exposed beams. They are all twin, double or a family room. Each has an individual character with window seats, stylish décor and are all en suite with either bath or shower. There are 6 guest rooms - 1 off the lounge, 3 upstairs (one of which is a large family room), and 2 rooms in the annexe. There is also a separate self-catering unit which provides accommodation for two people, converted from the old horse stables. |

Bay Tree Farm is ideally situated for a holiday, whatever your particular interests. We are within walking distance of a World Heritage site - Fountains Abbey. Regarded as one of the most remarkable places in Europe it includes a 12th Century Cistercian abbey and water mill, Elizabethan mansion, a Georgian water garden and medieval deer park.
Castles and Stately Homes: Ripley Castle, Castle Howard, Harewood House, Newby Hall and Gardens.
National Trust Properties: Beningbrough Hall and Gardens, Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal, Brimham Rocks.
