Bed and Breakfast Description

 

A warm welcome is assured all year at Wood Farm in the peaceful countryside yet close to York city centre. Wood Farm has been a working farm since 1850. It has been with the present family for over 50 years. The Farm is set in the beautiful North Yorkshire country side and is within easy distance of many local attractions. The farm contains over 300 acres of land including wheat, barley and oil seed rape crops. There are over 50 cattle of various ages which are reared for beef.

Wood Farm has 3 rooms all on the first floor which are stylish and decorated to a high standard. The gloriously comfortable beds have pocket sprung mattresses, crisp cotton Laura Ashley bedding and the best down duvets. The bathrooms are all ensuite and have modern luxury walk in showers. All rooms are equipped with hospitality trays, hairdryer, radio alarm clocks, LCD screen TV's with integril DVD player, free internet access and ipod docks

 

York Attractions

 
The farm is situated on the cycle 65 route and is ideal for visiting the historic city of York, Herriott country, North Yorkshire Moors, Yorkshire Dales and many National Trust Properties including Beningbrough Hall a mere 2 miles away.

There are many local activities including horse riding and fishing, a host of good restaurants and public houses can be found in the nearby villages.
 

B&B Location
 
From the York ring road (A1237), take the A19 north bound through Skelton and continue towards Shipton. On entering the village take the first left onto Station Lane towards Beningbrough, continue over the railway bridge round the sharp right hand bend. The arm drive is 100m on the left and the farm is situated half a mile in.
