We have a residents bar. There is a beach nearby. Our establishment is fitted with central heating throughout. All or some rooms have ensuite facilities. We have fishing opportunities nearby. Garden and/or patio area for guests

Bed and Breakfast Description

 

We offer 17 ensuite bedrooms comprising a mixture of standard, deluxe and premier rooms, including two suites. Deluxe Accommodation is situated in a purpose built block at the rear of the main building. New from October 2006 we can now offer a choice of two Premier Double and four Premier King size rooms in the newly converted Forge adjacent to the Main building with its own private garden.

Substantial home cooked meals using the very best local produce are served in the bar and dining rooms. We offer about 20 different dishes, including vegetarian. The hot main courses are served with a selection of fresh vegetables, and a choice of chips, jacket potatoes, boiled potatoes or basmati rice. As well as the usual range of drinks, there is a choice of real ales (one of them local to the region), and a wide selection of wines. We also offer a good selection of malt whisky.

 

Alnwick Attractions

 
The Masons Arms is an ideal base for exploring the virtually undiscovered county of Northumberland, which boasts one of the most beautiful stretches of English coastline. The countryside encompasses heather moorland, isolated farmsteads, forests and valleys, and there are castles and battlefields which reflect Northumberland's turbulent past.

Watersport enthusiasts enjoy the nearby facilities of Beadnell Bay and of course Kielder Water. golfers, anglers (river fishers, sea fishing) and walkers will find themselves spoilt for choice. Birdwatchers and wildlife enthusiasts will appreciate the wide range of resident and migrant birds along the coast or at reserves at Newton, Hauxley and the Farne Islands. Arranged golf tours available also.

Alnwick is an attractive medieval market town famous for its impressive castle which stands majestically by the river Aln. The town, with its ancient town-wall gates and cobbled streets has many buildings of architectural interest. Visitors to the area appreciate the "olde worlde" charm and the traditional character of Alnwick with its reputation for hospitality.
