Bed and Breakfast Description

 

The Balmoral Guest House is situated on Morecambe Promenade, overlooking Morecambe Bay, which is renowned for it's superb sunsets against the Lake District Mountains. The guest house is open all year round and well established and family run, offering excellent cuisine and comfort; and is ideally located for all the amenities of the resort. The guest house is tastefully furnished throughout, with installed double glazing. The thirteen bedrooms comprise of single, twin, double and family rooms; all have tea-making facilities and also have shaver points.

Most bedrooms are available with a shower and toilet en-suite. Of course guests have access to our guest house at all times - there are no restrictions. Bedroom and front door keys are supplied to guests upon arrival. Our breakfasts are cooked fresh and within the guest house; and are given compliments on a daily basis! There are reduced terms for children up to the age of 15 years, and special terms are available on weekend and midweek breaks.

 

Morecambe Attractions

 
Located a few minutes down Morecambe's Promenade (which we have five and a half miles of!), we have a Lazer Quest for children (MegaZone) and a Children's Activity Centre (Regent Park Studios). For the adults, we have a Local Market (indoor and outdoor), and a Gala Bingo. We also have a newly-built JJB Fitness Centre and a newly refurbished Midland Hotel. In the opposite direction, it's only a short walk to the picturesque village of Heysham.

Happy Mount Park is fun for all the family - the park includes a paddling pool for the little ones (and even the big ones), and there is a miniature railway and an indoor play area. You can even have a family game of crazy golf.

Morecambe has one of it's own modern four screen cinema, which shows all the latest films, and also has a children's club every saturday morning. Just across the road from the cinema, Morecambe also has a modern Bowling Alley (Superbowl).

Morecambe was home to one half of Britain's most popular comedy duo - Morecambe and Wise. Eric John Bartholomew was born in the seaside town in 1926. It wasn't until 1943 that he teamed up with Ernie Wise.... Eric Morecambe passed away in 1984.

While visiting us here in Morecambe, why not take a day trip to the Lake District? - There is plenty to see and do! Take a cruise on Lake Windermere, or follow the stories of Peter Rabbit and his friends by visiting the "World of Beatrix Potter" attraction... You could also see where it all began, with a visit to "Hill Top", the home of the late Beatrix Potter. Lake Windermere is the largest lake in the country - It is mostly known for it's beautiful scenery.

From the North: Leave the M6 at Junction 35, and take the A6 and A5105 to Morecambe.
The guest house is situated at the West End of the Promenade.

West coast main line to Lancaster, change for Morecambe Promenade Station. Leeds, Carnforth, Lancaster, Morecambe Promenade.

BY SEA
Ferry from the Isle of Man to Heysham.
