Bed and Breakfast Description

 

Enchanting writer/artist's thatched cottage in one of the most picturesque villages of West Sussex.

The accomodation comprises a pretty little cottage, adjoining the main part of the house, twin room, bathroom and quaint sitting room with colour television and single divan bed. A nice garden with superb views over Amberley Wildbrooks.

Breakfast: Full English or Continental.

A local pub and village shop a couple of minutes walk away.

 

Amberley Attractions

 
A beautiful English village of thatched cottages and ancient buildings. A nine hundred year old Church, St Michael's. The nave is Norman; the chancel, south aisle and west tower are Early English; some of the murals are medieval and there is a brass showing John Wantele who died in 1424. The bells in the tower, installed in 1742 are said to have "the sweetest peal in the land".

A working studio pottery in an old chapel, watch and talk to the potters whilst they work.

Amberley Working Museum (www.amberleymuseum.co.uk).

RSPB Pulborough Brooks and South Downs close by, so perfect for walkers, country and bird lovers.

Amberley Castle is a luxury Castle hotel (www.amberleycastle.co.uk)

Arundel Castle, Chichester, Goodwood and Littlehampton beaches are only half an hour away by car.

Amberley main line railway station is about a mile away with connections to London Victoria, London Bridge, Portsmouth and Gatwick.
By car, Amberley is on the B2139. Take the turn signposted to Amberley Village then turn left at the Black Horse Pub. Brook Green is 100 yards up on the right.
