We have a residents bar. Our establishment is fitted with central heating throughout. All or some rooms have ensuite facilities. Garden and/or patio area for guests Hairdryers are available in rooms or on request. Internet access available in rooms or residents lounge.

Bed and Breakfast Description

 

We have 6 en suite B & B rooms in our 4 Star English Tourist Board Rated Grade II Listed building, located in the heart of Ticknall. All rooms are doubles and Rooms 5 and 6 are finished to a Superior standard. Our prices include a full English breakfast or something a little lighter, if you prefer.

All rooms have their own private entrance which means that you will not be required to pass through any of the dining or drinking areas. We are friendly and informal. You don't need to dress up if you don't want to and you will receive great welcome... the sort that you will never find in a branded hotel. You will soon discover the beauty of Ticknall and the benefits of our lovely B & B Accommodation.

We are a relaxed pub suited to all sorts of leisure and business occasions. We would love to cook for you, whether you require a table for two because you can't be bothered to cook at home or if you just wish to chat and enjoy life. Should you wish to arrange a special occasion such as a birthday celebration or a wedding for up to 60 people, we would love to help you. We don't charge extra because we don't use table cloths or pretend to be something we're not. Our menus are straight forward and honest. We use the best, freshest and whenever possible, locally sourced produce.

 

Derby Attractions

 
Ticknall is a picturesque village situated in Derbyshire, south of the City of Derby. It's among a cluster of small villages such as Melbourne, Calke, Milton and Repton.

The village has 270 houses, 1271 inhabitants , one 4 Star English Tourist Board rated B&B, 3 pubs, a village shop, a village hall and plenty of good walking. The staff of Life is located in the heart of the village.

10 minutes walk from The Staff of Life are the history rich grounds of Calke Park, which is open to the public all year round and often holds concerts and other events.

Head northwest on M1 toward Exit 28 0.6 mi
At junction 28, take the A38 exit to Matlock/Mansfield 0.3 mi
At the roundabout, take the 5th exit onto the M1 ramp 0.7 mi
Merge onto M1 18.8 mi
At junction 24a, take the A50 exit to Derby/Stoke 0.8 mi
At Warren Lane Roundabout, take the 3rd exit onto A50 heading to A6/Castle Donington/Stoke/Lockington/Shardlow/Derby 6.0 mi
At junction 3, take the A514 exit to B587/Swadlincote/Melbourne 0.2 mi
At the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto A514/Swarkestone Rd
Continue to follow A514 4.6 mi
Turn left at B5006/High St
Destination will be on the left 0.1 mi
