Bed and Breakfast Description

Moss Farm is a beautifully restored Cheshire farmhouse situated in open countryside.
The house is surrounded by fields in a peaceful location.

You are guaranteed a warm welcome from Rachel and Andrew. Our aim is to provide you with a pleasant, relaxing stay with a good hearty breakfast.

The rooms are en-suite and all have a selection of fruit and snacks, with tea and coffee making facilities. Internet access, TV, DVD, CD are all provided. You may borrow a DVD from our extensive library on request.

We can also provide lite-bite lunches and a selection of evening meals, simply order these the day before to avoid disappointment. We can provide a packed breakfasts and lunches too.

We have now started to renovate the barns and convert them into three dwellings. This is a mammoth undertaking. We are managing the work as well as doing as much as possible of the work ourselves.

The farmhouse has a wildlife pond which is home to our ducks; Indian Runners, Coots, Moorhens, Magpie Ducks and Khaki Cambells. The Peover Eye river adjoins the fields, and is home to Trout and other wildlife. We regularly see owls and many other birds including a King Fisher.

We offer high quality luxurious Bed and Breakfast accommodation in the renovated farm house. As well as having a luxurious bedroom, guests have use o the grounds during their stay, and can sit by the pond or relax in the garden - weather permitting.

The Rose Room
The Rose Room overlooks the garden and fields with views across the Cheshire Plain.
The luxury ensuite bathroom has a large corner jacuzzi bath, perfect to unwind in at the end of the day.

The Balcony Room
The balcony room overlooks the south side of the garden.
It has views over the wildlife pond.
Nothing is more relaxing than sitting on the balcony watching the ducks on the pond.

There is also a family room available that shares the bathroom with The Balcony Room. This is ideal for families.

We are within walking distance of country pubs who serve excellent food and drinks. Knutsford, famous for its wide selection of quality restaurants and bars is only a short drive or a 4 minute train journey away.

There are many fine restaurants in Knutsford. Among these is the award winning Belle Époque. Its sister restaurant The Duke of Portland is in the neighbouring village of Lach Dennis. There are in excess of twenty other restaurants in the town and many more in the surrounding area.

There are a number of country pubs in walking distance, the nearest being The Golden Pheasant. The Bells of Peover, made famous during the second world war because of the visits from Generals Eisenhower and Patton is a short walk as is the Smoker Inn, The Crown and the Three Greyhounds. All serve excellent food and are also very welcoming to go for a drink and are all full of Cheshire charm and atmosphere.

Manchester and Chester are only a short drive or train journey away and both have top class restaurants with Michelin Stars as well as all the variety you would expect in major cities. B&B Location

We are in a rural location yet convenient for Knutsford (3 miles) and junction 19 of the M6.

By Road:
Leave the M6 at Junction 19. From the South turn left off of the motorway towards Chester on the A556.

Go straight through one set of lights still heading towards Chester.

About 2 miles further on you will approach another set of lights. Turn left at these lights towards Plumley and Lower Peover. There is a large sign saying P.A.S.T just before the lights and the Smoker Inn is just after.

Continue for about one mile and turn right just before the Methodist Church opposite the Village Store. The Church appears to be straight in front of you as the road bends to the left at this point.

Continue on this road passing two roads on the left. The road then turns at a right angle left with a Tudor cottage on the right.

Stay on this road for about half a mile until you see a red post box on the left. Take the next right 10 yards after this.

Moss Farm can be seen as you pass over the small bridge over the Peover Eye on the right. The entrance is 100 metres further up on the right.

By Rail:
Moss Farm is less than a mile from Plumley Station. Plumley station is an unmanned stop on the Chester to Manchester line operated by Northern Rail.
