Bed and Breakfast Description

Set at the edge of a registered organic wildlife site, down narrow country lanes, White House Farm is an idyllic place to stay in the heart of Suffolk. Only three miles from the historic market town of Woodbridge, the farm is an ideal base to explore Suffolk or enjoy a peaceful retreat. At White House Farm guests can explore wildflower meadows bordered by ancient hedgerows and woodland with ancient trees and relax in the beautiful, tranquil farmhouse garden. The 19th century farmhouse has original features throughout and the land and farm buildings are reminiscent of a bygone age. White House Farm is set in a secluded area down one of many winding country lanes between the villages of Hasketon and Burgh. Nearby village pubs offer lunches and evening meals. An excellent farm shop is only 5 minutes away. Continental breakfasts are served in an Arts and Crafts summerhouse with views to the garden and orchard. Food is vegetarian (or vegan if advance notice is given) and includes organic, fair-trade, local and homemade produce. Two double bedrooms (including a 4-poster room) are available in the farmhouse and a gypsy caravan in a small, picturesque meadow sleeps two. We look forward to welcoming you.



Woodbridge Attractions

White House Farm is just 3 miles from the centre of Woodbridge, a picturesque market town at the edge of the River Deben estuary. It has many historic pubs, restaurants and independent shops. Some of Suffolk's best-loved attractions are nearby: 15 mins to the famous Anglo-Saxon burial site at Sutton Hoo (National Trust) 25 mins to Framlingham Castle. Framlingham is a beautiful ancient town with a magnificent 12th century castle. 30 mins to Snape Maltings with independent shops, galleries, eateries and concert hall 30 mins to Ipswich, a large town with museums, shops, restaurants and the impressive Christchurch Mansion and park. 35 mins to Aldeburgh, a remarkable coastal town and Orford Castle 45 mins to Flatford Mill in 'Constable Country' and the River Stour, and to RSPB Minsmere and Dunwich with its monastery ruins at the coast. The quaint, Victorian seaside town of Southwold is also about 45 mins away.

By car:
Just 5 minutes off the A12 down quiet, winding country lanes:

If travelling north on the A12, turn onto the Grundisburgh Road (B1079) at the Woodbridge roundabout with the Wyevale Garden Centre. Then take the first right turning, signposted Hasketon. Then take the first left signposted Hasketon (Blacksmiths Road). You will drive into Hasketon village with the church on your left. Keep straight on and follow the sharp right hand bend where there is a short brick wall with a Boulge Road sign. After this right hand bend take the second left (opposite Highfield House). White House Farm is 1/3 mile down that road on the right hand side. Turn into the gravel drive between the farmhouse and red-brick cartshed.

If travelling south on the A12, after the Wickham Market bypass A12 dual carriageway ends, take the second right signposted to Bredfield. Take the first left signposted to Hasketon and take the second right where the sign does not point to the right but says Hasketon and Woodbridge straight on and Bredfield and Dallinghoo towards the way you have come. White House Farm is on your right in 1/3 mile. Turn into the gravel drive between the far house and red-brick cartshed.
