Bed and Breakfast Description |
| |
|
Minutes from the ancient mounds and henges of Salisbury Plain, close to the spires of Salisbury & Winchester, an hour from beautiful Georgian Bath, and half an hour from the beautiful gardens of Stourhead, lies The Angel at Hindon.
A beautifully-restored 18th century coaching inn, The Angel was originally known as the Grosvenor Arms. Prior to its construction in 1750 a medieval inn, The Angel, existed on the site. Offering many original features, wooden floors, beams, huge stone fireplace, alongside our contemporary and elegant restaurants, The Angel has a mood for everyone, whether traditional or modern.
We have seven, beautifully appointed rooms, both doubles and twins and two for families, all en-suite. Featuring original features, and furnished in harmony with its 18th century origins as a coaching house, each room retains an individual charm, while offering the sumptuous comforts of modern living.
Enjoy eclectic and inspirational menus, produced from only the finest ingredients and a refreshing and elegant selection of fine wines from around the world. Our service is attentive, friendly, personal and professional. So, if you would like hand-pulled local real ale in genuine tradition and a relaxed dining experience, please come and join us! |

Salisbury Attractions |

Wiltshire is a beautiful county of rolling mists over the Salisbury plain, ancient British settlements, Druid mystery, breathtaking countryside and unique culture, both ancient and contemporary. Close to the spires of Salisbury & Winchester, an hour from beautiful Georgian Bath, and half an hour from the beautiful gardens of Stourhead. Visit the rural ancient gem of Amesbury, just two miles from Stonehenge, or medieval Downton on the River Avon, home of the 16th century ‘Cuckoo Fair’, and the Saxon Moot, six miles south of Salisbury.
Then there are the fascinating ancient villages of Mere & Wilton, just a few miles west of Salisbury, and minutes from Hindon! Mere nestles beneath the downs, and sits a few miles from the Somerset and Dorset borders – it has a wealth of flora, fauna, ancient secrets and glorious gardens & houses. Wilton is the ancient capital of Wessex, and gave its name to the county of Wiltshire! Many activities such as golf, fishing, shooting and horseriding are available near by. |
