Bed and Breakfast Description

 

We would like you to visit us, either for Bed and Breakfast or on a self catering basis in The Old Piggery. Our farm is in the most beautiful countryside and you can enjoy a relaxing and comfortable time here. We have a herd of Red Poll Cattle on our organic farm, our own chickens to produce delicious breakfast eggs and home-grown asparagus. You can see the stars in the night sky and enjoy the peace of the countryside.

Our rooms consist of: The Edwards Room in the house with private bathroom including separate shower and whirlpool bath - 6 foot bed; The French Room in the house sharing a private bathroom with the Family Room - large 5 foot double bed and The Family Room in the house sharing a private bathroom with the French Room - 6 foot double OR 2 twin beds plus futon plus sofabed for children. A cot is also available.

We will welcome you with tea or coffee. In the morning, you will have a full English breakfast or an inadequate continental snack. It's up to you! For an evening meal, there are some excellent local pubs and restaurants, all within 6 miles.

 

Salisbury Attractions

 
Nearby is Salisbury with its ancient Cathedral and Museum , famously praised by Bill Bryson; Shaftesbury , a hilltop market town and its historic Gold Hill; Wardour Castle , a romantic ruin from the Civil War; prehistoric Stonehenge , a world heritage site; Longleat with its lions; Stourhead renowned for its exquisite 18th Century landscaped gardens and many other places of interest.

Tisbury , only 3 miles away, has a main line station direct to Waterloo, London and we can collect you if you wish to travel to us by train. The A303 - the main route from London to the South West of England is 3 miles north of us. The Dorset coast is about 30 miles to the south.
 

B&B Location
 
Cools Farm is approx 2 miles east of the A350 between Shaftesbury and Warminster and 4 miles south of the A303 from London to the West Country.

If approaching from the north, west or east, go to Hindon and down the High Street (tree lined road). At the bottom by the playgroun, turn left. Carry on this road for 1.8 miles and then turn right. Cools Farm is down this road.

If approaching from the south (Shaftesbury), on the A350 bypass of East Knoyle, take the turning marked to West Tisbury. After about a mile, at the first crossroads, turn left. Keep going past the white house Cools Cottage on your left then Cools Farm is a bit further up this road on the right.
