Bed and Breakfast Description

 

Ash and Anne Shaw invite you to stay at Tudor Cottage in Bossington which is in the Exmoor National Park, just ten minutes walk from the coast and a mile from Porlock. The cottage started its life as a 15th century cross passage house open to the roof with head height screens dividing it and the fire burning on the floor as is evidenced by the smoke blackened beams which can still be seen in the loft.

Our rooms look across the paddock to the woodland climbing Bossington Hill. All rooms are non-smoking and have tea and coffee making facilities,freeview tv/dvd, hairdryer, clock radio, guest controlled heating and a mini bar. An iron and ironing board are available. Wireless internet access is available throughout the house.

Tudor Cottage provides a place to relax in the guests lounge or in the garden. There are plenty of pubs and restaurants in Porlock and in the other villages in the area. Or have a bottle of wine or a Pims watching the sun-set from the garden.

Light meals, drinks and snacks available throughout the day.

 

Porlock Attractions

 
The cottage is in the tranquil National Trust village of Bossington in the Exmoor National Park, ten minutes walk from the coast and about a mile from the village of Porlock. It is surrounded by the moorland, the wooded combes and the magnificent coastline which make this National Park a place of such varied interest and beauty and thereare excellent walking, riding and cycling opportunities.

Besides the scenery there is plenty of wldlife including the ancient breed of Exmoor ponies, red deer and many speciesof bird. There are also many places of interest to visit in the area. You can use your car to explore or you can leave it in our car park andexplore on foot, by bus, on a cycle or on horseback.The long distance South West Coast Path passes through the village and the village of Porlock, which is a mile away, marks one end of the Coleridge Way - a rather shorter walk of 36 miles,
