Bed and Breakfast Description

 

Northleigh was converted in 1988 and the oldest part of the building dates back to the 17c. It even has a traditional Devon bread oven. The house used to be part of a working farm until it was split up in the 1970's. The property is surrounded by it own land and has space available to accommodate guests with horses. Being keen gardeners we have planted an extensive range of broadleaf trees which now have become an important part of the garden.

Room choices include a twin bedded room with separate bathroom and single with shared bathroom. A full breakfast is available between 7.30 and 9.00am. A Continental breakfast is available if you are checking out earlier or later than this. Please advice of any special dietary requests at your earliest convenience.

We have a guests sitting room you will find a selection of books and magazines. Internet access is available on request. Well behaved dogs are welcome. Badly behaved dogs will be asked to sleep outside.

Two Moors Way

A popular and very attractive route linking Dartmoor and Exmoor national parks through diverse scenery including wild and remote parts of Dartmoor, some of the loveliest parts of the Dart Valley, the National Trust's Castle Drogo, quiet rural backwaters of central Devon, the high open moors of Exmoor and the spectacular coast at Lynmouth.

Exmoor National Park

Less that a 25minute drive Exmoor can offer breathtakingly beautiful coastline of plunging cliffs, sheltered bays and traditional resorts to the space and undisturbed tranquility of its open moors and wooded valleys, Exmoor provides a world of contrasts.

North Devon Coast

The coast is within easy reach approx 40mins drive. Croyde Bay in Devon is part of the beautiful Heritage Coastline in North Devon and is a favourite destination for families and surfers alike. Croyde village is a charming little hamlet of thatched cottages with many places to eat, buy gifts and hire beach equipment - including surfboards. Croyde Bay sits in between the neighbouring beaches of Saunton Sands, Putsborough and Woolacombe and is an ideal spot for a relaxing holiday or short break.

If travelling from the North it is recommended that visitors take Jct 27 off the M5 motorway and head for Tiverton approx 7 miles from the M5. Once in Tiverton take the sign to Witheridge where directions to Morchard Bishop can be picked up.
