Bed and Breakfast Description

Our house is dated pre 1940 with a stained glass window in the staircase which is typical of that period. The single rooms have views up to the Tor and all the other bedrooms have panoramic countryside views over The Vale of Avalon and beyond. They are spacious, light, comfortably furnished and centrally heated with tea & coffee making facilities. With the exception of one single room, all have wash basins. There are two separate shower rooms, toilets and a bathroom. The roomy television lounge leads out on to the sun terrace and large garden where guests can sit and enjoy the views.

We offer a varied breakfast menu - choose between traditional English, vegetarian or continental with tea and coffee. We use local produce wherever possible and we cater for those with special diets. Homemade preserves and apple juice are available in season. There are numerous good pubs and restaurants in Glastonbury and the surrounding area. We will always be pleased to give you directions or help you in whatever way we can to make your stay with us enjoyable.

Glastonbury Attractions

The Isle of Avalon is famous throughout the world as the birthplace of Christianity in Britain and for it's links with King Arthur. Visitors from all corners of the earth have visited it's Abbey ruins and climbed the Tor. The Tor is about 520ft high and at it's summit stands the remains of the Church dedicated to St. Michael. The view from the top is breathtaking, looking down on Glastonbury Abbey, Wearyall Hill, The Holy Thorn and for miles beyond. In more recent years, Glastonbury has become a centre for healing using natural sources.

Within a few miles and easily reached by car or service bus are many attractions for visitors. We are in the heart of the cider and shoemaking country, both being available at discounted prices. Glastonbury - Glastonbury Tor, Abbey Ruins, Chalice Well, Somerset Rural Life Museum, Lake Village Museum. Street (2 miles away) - Clarks Village Factory Shopping Outlet, Strode Theatre. Surrounding area - Wells Cathedral, Bishop's Palace, Longleat Safari Park and House, Cheddar Gorge and Caves, Wookey Hole Caves and Old Papermill, Local Vineyards, Roman Baths at Bath.
