John and Doreen Titman have lived in Lower Farm since the early 80's. Doreen, a farmer's daughter, has always lived in Somerset. In earlier careers John was an agricultural auctioneer and Doreen enjoyed working in a busy fine-art saleroom in Taunton. They started the B and B in the Farmhouse in 1997 and then expanded it by converting the Barn and the Granary to provide 12 more modernised, ensuite rooms. John keeps cattle, and the hens you see running around the farm provide fresh eggs every day. Their two Labradors, Winston and Wellington are very much part of the family.
We have a total of 11 double/twin rooms and 4 single rooms. Most have TVs, tea and coffee facilities, hair dryers and clock-radios. Free WiFi is available in the farmhouse. There is plenty of off road, safe parking. There are two double, family rooms in the main farm house. One is ensuite and the other has a large adjoining bathroom. this room has an extra single bed and another on the landing leading to the bathroom.
Fresh vegetables come from the Gardens and Doreen makes her own jams from the soft and orchard fruits which they grow. A typical Somerset scene, especially here in the village are orchards full of mistletoe. Often birds of prey, such as buzzards and sparrow hawks can be seen flying overhead. All prices include full English Breakfasts cooked to order on the Aga, or continental breakfast if you prefer. These are served in the farmhouse kitchen/ breakfast room. We do not serve evening meals but there are many excellent pubs and restaurants within easy reach by car.
We can take adults and children over the age of 5, but cannot accept dogs. John and Doreen invite you to enjoy your stay in their beautiful, rural home. |
