Bed and Breakfast Description

Combeshead Farm is a small working farm with sheep, horses and chickens. We offer you real country hospitality with welcoming tea and cake on arrival either out on the sunny patio or in the guest's sitting room.

We offer real homely and very comfortable bed and breakfast with two double bedrooms and one family bedroom all with excellent rural views. We are an ideal base to explore Exmoor with its ever changing scenery, wildlife and country pursuits especially suitable for walkers, cyclists, riding or just relaxing.

Wherever possible we use our own produce with home-cured bacon and sausages, fresh free range eggs and home-made jams and marmalade. Breakfast is cooked in our large farmhouse kitchen on the Aga.
Evening meals are available with prior notice.
We have stabling available if you wish to bring your horse on holiday and enjoy riding the bridleways that start from the farm.
We are close to Dunkery Beacon, Snowdrop Valley and The Coleridge Way and not too far from the South West Coastal Path.

Wheddon Cross Attractions

Exmoor National Park was created in 1954 and includes the Brendon Hills and Porlock Vale. It is 267 acres in size and has hundreds of miles of bridleways and footpaths making it ideal walking, riding and mountain bike country. The Exmoor pony and Exmoor's famous red deer are something you should look out for during your stay on Exmoor.

There are many different attractions for you to enjoy during your stay. One of the most popular is West Somerset Steam Railway with trains running from Minehead to Bishops Lydeard along the coast via Dunster, Blue Anchor and Watchet. The West Somerset Railway is the longest preserved railway in the UK running for 20 miles along the coast and inland. The British Rail line closed in 1971 and was reopened as the West Somerset Railway 1975.
Selworthy must be one of the best known villages in the area with its pretty lime washed thatched cottages around the Village Green and its famous white painted 15th century church of All Saints with its far reaching views over the Holnicote Estate. The church tower dates from the 14th century and the roof is a cherished example of fine wood carving.

There are lots of pretty thatched villages around Combeshead Farm many with their own excellent tea rooms.
