Bed and Breakfast Description

 

Alison and James would like to welcome you to Cliveden Guesthouse. We are close to the town centre and all the amenities. We have our own car park and are conveniently situated for the coach and train stations.

We have single, twin, double and family rooms, all of which are either en suite or have their own private shower room and toilet. All of our rooms have digital televisions, refreshment trays, toiletries, towels, alarm clocks, hair dryers, and fold away tables. The rooms are centrally heated and have further electric heaters if required. Our beds are made with crisp white linen and duvets. The pillows are polyester / cotton. Extra blankets and pillows are available in each room. An ironing board and iron is available for guests to use.

Guests are welcome to use the lounge. There is a television with digital box and a DAB radio. There are three arm chairs and a coffee table. There is also a Wendl & Lung Grand Piano which guests can use if they are pianists and they are not disturbing other guests. The lounge is carpeted and has a coal effect gas fire and radiator for use in the colder weather.

The dining room has a wooden floor and double glass doors over looking a small feature garden and water feature. There are six square tables and chairs without arms. A highchair is available. Breakfast and evening meals are served in the dining room.

 

Paignton Attractions

 
You will never get bored in Paignton and Devon. Away from the shores, there's no shortage of things to do and visitors are spoilt for choice!

The steam train runs along the Paignton and Dartmouth Steam Railway to Kingswear. You can visit the endangered species at Paignton Zoo, or learn some history at the 500 year old Kirkham House or at Oldway Mansion, once home of Isaac Singer of Singer sewing machine fame.

The steam train runs along an extremely picturesque railway line which runs from Paignton to Kingswear, where you can catch a ferry to the town of Dartmouth.

The scenery makes the line a worthwhile trip. You get a good view of Torbay as the train leaves Paignton and around Kingswear, the views over the river Dart are pretty amazing too. Located right outside the hotel it is very conveniently located. Paignton Zoo is home to thousands of amazing animals and plants. Visit the desert, cross the savannah, explore the forest and trek through the tropics. Use your senses to discover the wild world: look around, listen out - you'll even need your sense of smell! It's a great day out for everyone.
