Sonachan House has been awarded a Visit Britain quality rating of 4 Stars under the Guest Accommodation Scheme. Our business is to make your stay a happy one and every effort is made to cater to the individual comfort of our guests. We cannot guarantee the weather but will do everything possible to help make your stay enjoyable.

Relax in the quiet of the hotel's lounge. Play chess or cards or simply watch TV, DVD or a video (there are plenty to choose from). To set you up for the day a traditional English Breakfast is served every morning. In the evening you can enjoy a range of traditional and varied home cooked food. A choice of menu is always available.

Our bar provides a comfortable area for our guests to relax and socialise with other guests if they wish. The Bar is available all day until late. Join us in the Bar for a pre-dinner drink. Choose a glass or bottle of wine from our selection of wines from around the globe, to enjoy with your meal. After dinner, adjourn to the bar for coffee and liqueurs. We have a wide selection of games available including cards, Backgammon, Cribbage, Dominoes, Scrabble, Monopoly and Chess. For those that wish to join in we also organize quizzes or games evenings

Our Accommodation has nine en-suite bedrooms all of which are centrally heated and have a colour television and beverage tray. We have a selection of rooms available, from a single to a family room for five persons. We are sure that we will have the accommodation that meets your requirements.

Relax in the hotel gardens where you can always have a refreshing drink or just soak up the beautiful English Riviera weather.

The English Riviera has one of the best climatic records in Britain, making it the perfect holiday destination, whatever the season. Torbay consists of the three main towns of Torquay, Paignton and Brixham.

Riviera winters are mild and short, soon giving way to the flower filled warmth of an early spring as carefully manicured gardens begin to bloom. It's also time to enjoy the freshness of the Riviera and the tranquillity of its secluded beaches and rocky coves.

Like spring, the long summer starts early. Fresh, sunny days merge into balmy evenings and that unique Riviera atmosphere reaches its peak.

As seen on BBC1's 'The Zoo Keepers' this is one of Britain’s biggest and best zoos with 80 acres divided into habitat zones.

Torquay’s coastal zoo is home to seals, puffins, sea ducks and wading birds as well as nearly 100 penguins, some of which roam free.

Kents cavern is a beautiful cave carved from 385 million year old coralline limestone. The enthusiastic guides let you absorb the history and natural formations of the half kilometre cave.
