Whale Barn is a comfortable family house set in the gently rolling farmland of the Childerley Estate just west of Cambridge.
B&B is in the west wing, with breakfast on the terrace, weather permitting. We cook with eggs from our own chickens, sausages and bacon from a local family butcher, undyed smoked haddock from Waitrose, and we bake our own bread.
We have one family room, with its own sunny terrace, a kingsize double bed, single bed, a travel cot, and an en-suite shower room with power shower and permanent hot water.
We also offer a double bedroom with en-suite shower room with power shower and permanent hot water.
The rooms are centrally heated. There is a small kitchen area with tea and coffee making facilities and evening meals are available by arrangement.
We have some loan bicycles available.
There are nice pubs in the nearby villages of Elsworth, Boxworth (both walking distance across the fields) and Conington (an easy cycle ride).
Serious nightlife is available in Cambridge. Apparently. |
